Busy Beaver partners with Upside
Busy Beaver, a home improvement center with 22 locations across Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia, is partnering with Upside, an app that gives users cash back on purchases.
The partnership aims to boost new and infrequent customer traffic for Busy Beaver, and it's another step in Upside’s expansion beyond the food and fuel industries.
“Partnering with Upside perfectly aligns with our commitment to providing a customer-first retail experience," Adam Gunnet, Busy Beaver's director of IT & business intelligence. "We are excited to strengthen our position as the go-to home improvement center in the communities we serve by embracing innovative partnerships, exceptional customer service, and cutting-edge technology.”
In a crowded, competitive home improvement landscape, retailers are increasingly using loyalty perks, discounts, events and enhanced in-store experiences to stand out. By joining the Upside platform, Busy Beaver is hoping to gain exposure to millions of consumers through Upside’s app and partner network and reach shoppers at the crucial moment they're deciding where to buy. According to an Upside rep, Busy Beaver customers can earn up to 25 percent cash back through this partnership, with the average being around 9 percent. However, she notes, "It's important to note that Upside’s cash back offers are personalized, dynamic and margin-bound."
The rep further explains that Busy Beaver customers must manually upload their receipt to get cash back.
According to Upside, the company is working with over 100,000 retailers and helped them earn $1.8 billion in incremental profit to date.
“Upside limits participation in all its categories on a first-come, first-served basis. As the platform rapidly grows to fill these quotas, joining early positions Busy Beaver to capitalize on the first-mover advantage, driving significant incremental profit as more consumers earn cash back with every transaction,” said Kevin Hart, Upside’s chief sales officer.
