Laurie Becker is the marketing director at Whitmore Ace Hardware, and she said that serving their community is always top of mind.
The loss of one of their amazing high school associates Melissa Michalowski led her store to form a prom dress collection at each of their stores to help families struggling to afford prom. The first Saturday in March students may receive a prom dress for a $5.00 donation to their scholarship fund. The day is a fun event with free hairstyles, $2.00 shoes, $1.00 jewelry and excitement. Her store has dressed more than 3,200 students for prom. Last year Laurie said they collected 2,630 dresses for the event.
