Business Excellence: Carol Dancer

Carol Dancer, president of Absorbent Specialty Products, joined the family oil absorbent business in 1993, helped rebuild it after a devastating fire in 2001, and finally branched out on her own to launch ASP in 2004. 

Carol began reseach and development on flood control products back in 2008, testing Flood Bags and Barriers at friends’ homes, ultimately landing her first patent. This past year, Quick Dam, the flood mitigation division of ASP, expanded its line. It responded to many flood disasters by replenishing USA-made inventory. Also during the past year, the company shipped product worldwide, won Retailer’s Choice Award and grew sales over 36%.
