The Building Center, Inc. has acquired a 130,000 square-foot facility on 72 acres in Georgetown County, S.C.
The new acquisition will serve as a manufacturing facility, and lumber and distribution center for building materials for builders in North and South Carolina, the company said.
The Building Center currently operates in seven locations with the new Georgetown facility being the company's third roof and truss manufacturing facility. The property is serviced by CSX rail, The Building Center noted.
"We are extremely excited to add this battleship of a facility to our enterprise. Our plans are to manufacture roof and floor trusses there. It will serve as a lumber and building-material distribution center to better serve our customers," said Skip Norris, president of The Building Center.
Based in Charlotte, N.C. The Building Center said that it leverages its sizable, regional presence to purchase and sell branded and commodity products at competitive market prices.
