Builders FirstSource grows in Boise

Builders FirstSource’s growth streak continued with an acquisition in Boise, Idaho, where Valley Truss will complement the Dallas based LBM giant’s existing operations in Boise.

Dallas-based Builders FirstSource operates more than 560 locations around the country and 12 locations in Idaho.

Valley Truss makes metal-plate connected wood trusses for builders and contractors in the residential and commercial construction industries. Founded in 1962 by Bob Buchwitz, the business has grown over the years to a point where it now employs a work force of 70.. According to a statement from Builders FirstSource, “Valley Truss will provide BFS with additional component capacity and will expand upon our value-added solutions to harness new growth opportunities.”

Jason and Mike Moodie, previous owners, will remain with the business and assist in the transition. The business will continue to fly the Valley Truss banner for the “foreseeable future,” while the company prepares a Builders FirstSource brand conversion.
