Briggs & Stratton announces new CEO

The power equipment giant names a new leader.

Briggs & Stratton, which manufactures engines for outdoor power equipment along with lithium-ion batteries, standby generators and energy storage systems, has announced that Kristina Cerniglia has been appointed as chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Cerniglia brings a wealth of manufacturing experience to her new role.

Cerniglia brings over 30 years of experience leading organizations in the manufacturing industry.  Most recently, she served as CFO at Briggs & Stratton for nearly two years, before being elevated to interim CEO in February 2024. Cerniglia will continue to focus on execution and growth, driving rapid improvements in performance to better serve customers, according to the company.  

Prior to Briggs & Stratton, Cerniglia was the CFO and senior vice president with Hillenbrand, Inc. after spending over 23 years in various financial leadership roles with Stanley Black & Decker and United Technology Corporation.
