BlueLinx announced that John Leahy has joined the building products distributor as director of national accounts for home centers.

Leahy will be responsible for the growth of the company’s home center business.

The move is in conjunction with the expansion of BlueLinx National Accounts tea. BlueLinx’s national customer base will be supported by two distinct teams: one promoting growth with national pro dealers, specialty distributors, co-ops, national builders, and national OEMs while the second team will be focused on its home center customer base.

Leahy arrives from kitchen and bath manufacturer Kohler. He had been with Kohler since 1995, serving in various capacities, including director of field sales with national responsibility for more than 60 sales associates calling on Home Depot and Lowes.

At Kohler, Leahy also served as director of sales for Home Depot, and also the director of sales for Ferguson, the national distributor.

“John brings over 20 years of sales experience leading account management and field sales teams,” said Mitch Lewis, president and CEO of BlueLinx. “it is my pleasure to welcome John Leah to BlueLinx where I know he will help drive our strategic initiative to significantly grow our Home Center business.”

Based in Atlanta, BlueLinx distributes building and industrial products to over 15,000 national, regional, and local dealers, as well as specialty distributors, national home centers, industrial, and manufactured housing customers.

In June, the company named Kelly Jenison as director of national accounts for pro dealers and specialty distributors. BlueLinx also cast a bigger net on sales and expanded its national accounts team.
