According to Alside, Ascend is the "world’s first" composite cladding engineered with a combination of glass-reinforced polymer and graphite-infused polystyrene. This mix was developed to offer a strong wind load and impact resistance, as well as for workability and to prevent flame/smoke spread.
Additionally, Ascend contains glass particles for additional structural stability, strength and heat resistance. Meanwhile, its non-moisture-absorbing materials help prevent rotting, warping, shrinking and swelling.
