Tile Doctor launches ZERO line of non-toxic products
The lineup includes biodegradable scrub pads made in the U.S.A.
The Tile Doctor, a provider of innovative, eco-conscious products and solutions for the tile industry, has debuted ZERO Products, a new line of non-toxic and sustainable products for tile applications.
The ZERO Products line includes Tile Doctor Scrub Pads – biodegradable scrub pads made in the U.S.A. from 100 recycled PET and plastic bottles – and Litokol Litoelastic Adhesive – a two-part epoxy-polyurethane reactive adhesive for ceramic tiles and natural stone.
Also in the lineup is Litokol Epoxy Elite EVO – an acid-resistant epoxy mortar and setting product for the installation and grouting of ceramic tiles.
Both Litoelastic Adhesive and Epoxy Elite EVO are very low in emissions and VOCs, meet the strictest tolerances and standards for indoor air quality, and have been awarded EC1 certification by GEV-Emicode.
Suitable for a wide range of applications, Tile Doctor Scrub Pads contain no phenol-formaldehyde resins, and are the only scrub pads currently available in the market with the proven ability to break down after less than one year in a landfill. They are available in four styles, from non-scratch to heavy-duty, maximally abrasive versions.
“ZERO Products have been developed with the aim of offering the highest performance possible while significantly lowering environmental and health impacts,” says Curt Rapp, founder and CEO of The Tile Doctor. “The products in the line have been created using environmentally sound materials and – in the case of our scrub pads – recycled and biodegradable materials, making them healthier than other alternatives for installers, consumers and the environment.”
In addition, The Tile Doctor offers the Litokol line of Starlike epoxy grouts – high-performance, non-toxic and eco-friendly grouting products used for a range of residential and commercial applications.
“Starlike Grout doesn’t contain airborne silica, antimicrobial products or the harmful chemicals found in cement and many epoxy grouts, eliminating the need for special disposal methods and minimizing environmental impact,” Rapp says. “Whereas comparable grouts available today are corrosive, Starlike is classified only as an irritant, making it a much friendlier option not only for residential and commercial design-build professionals, but also for homeowners seeking a product that is safe for their families and pets.”
