The large paddle switch allows for power start press points at multiple grip positions, said the firm.
Makita announced the 40V max XGT brushless cordless 4-½-inch / 6-inch paddle switch angle grinder, with electric brake (GAG14).
“The rubberized soft grip provides increased comfort on the job, and a compact size of only 13-½ inches increases user comfort and allows operation in tight spaces,” said the company.
Active feedback-sensing technology turns the motor off if the rotation speed suddenly slows or the wheel is forced to a stop.
It features an electronic current limiter that helps protect the motor from overload in high torque applications; and it also features quick guard rotation that allows easy tool-less adjustment for increased productivity, said the tool maker.
The brushless motor eliminates carbon brushes, enabling the motor to run cooler and more efficiently for longer life.
The company said its brushless motor along with the 40V max XGT battery combine to deliver performance that is comparable to a 15 AMP grinder.
