According to an update from Ace Hardware President and CEO John Venhuizen, ”many of our key operating systems, including ACENET, our Warehouse Management Systems, the Ace Retailer Mobile Assistant (ARMA), Hot Sheets, Invoices, Ace Rewards and the Care Center’s phone system have been interrupted or suspended.”
Here is the text of Ace's Sunday night update:
A subsequent notice to Ace dealers confirmed that there will be no store deliveries Oct. 30 or Oct. 31.
UPDATE: In a communication to vendors, Ace said: "We are encouraged to report we are making progress. While we can’t commit to a specific time at this point, we are increasingly confident that systems and operations will begin to resume midweek."
The co-op added that there is no known impact to retailer in-store P.O.S. systems and credit card processing. The notice encouraged Ace stores to remain open.
Acehardware.com continues to operate, allowing customers to search and view products. But Ace said it would temporarily disable consumer ordering functionality. Doing so will prevent disruption of consumer experiences resulting from the inability to transmit orders to the retailer.
The co-op said it is "feverishly continuing the investigation and solutioning to restore systems and operations."
