Here are the last two in the latest class of STIHL 2023 Hardware Store All Stars that represent community-oriented, customer-focused, high-performance hardware-and-building-supply retailing at its finest. From each of the 50 states, HBSDealer recognized an All-Star performer.
You can read about all 50 honorees here in the digital issue of HBSDealer. Additionally, HBSDealer.com will highlight a handful of honorees one batch at a time. This year’s final superstar performers from Wisconsin and Wyoming are featured below.
Wisconsin
Solon Springs Mercantile Hardware Hank
A newly launched e-commerce platform is a big part of the story of this small town hardware store in Solon Springs. “We have noticed that customers are coming in to make purchases with far more knowledge than they had in the past about products,” said Meg Thoreson, co-owner, with husband Ken. “E-commerce is an important element of providing the highest level of customer service,” they said. Part of United Hardware, the store also sells sporting goods and liquor.
Wyoming
Pinedale Lumber
“Your project is our priority,” is their motto. Next door is their Black Mountain Rental facility, offering heavy equipment rental, construction equipment, and hundreds of small tools for pros and DIYers alike. Owner Justin Sandner is involved in 4H, and annually sponsors four kids all the way through the program and donates feed and wood shavings for animals’ bedding. This Do it Best dealer also supports local sports programs.
