Spahn & Rose hires VP of Operations

Mike Elsea will aim to boost sales in Southeast lumberyard locations.

Spahn & Rose Lumber Company has hired Mike Elsea for the newly created position of Vice President of Operations for Southeastern locations. In this role, Elsea will be responsible for streamlining company operations while driving sales growth in Southeast retail lumberyard locations. 

"Mike brings a deep understanding of the Southeast market and a track record of excellence," said Dave Davis, CEO of Spahn & Rose. "He's a strong cultural fit and the right person to help us build for the future."

Elsea has more than 25 years of experience in the lumber and building materials industry, including a long career at BMC, serving as the vice president for an $800 million division of that company. After BMC was acquired by Builders FirstSource in 2021, Elsea became President & CEO of a $200 million hardlines distributor in northern Alabama.

Elsea obtained his bachelor's degree from the University of Montevallo and currently lives in Huntsville, Alabama. Elsea starts his role within the senior leadership of Spahn & Rose in April 2025.

Spahn & Rose operates 25 locations across Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Georgia and Alabama.
