The Week 7, 2025 edition of the Quikrete Industry Dashboard shows U.S. average gas prices are up again ($3.16) from last month ($3.07). However, pump prices are down considerably compared to last year's nationwide average of $3.25 in mid-February 2024, per AAA's data.

This week's Dashboard also reveals that the latest (unadjusted) January 2025 retail sales for NAICS 444 entities (building material and garden equipment and supplies dealers) totaled roughly $33 billion, down from the $36.3 billion tabulated from the previous month (December 2024). Year-over-year, January 2025's figures were up slightly compared to January 2024's sales of $32.8 billion. 

Meanwhile, the latest NAICS 44413 (hardware stores) sales figures, from December 2024, totaled $3.38 billion, which is down compared to November 2024's tally of $3.52 billion but higher than December 2023's $3.35 billion. 

In building materials industry stock news, Beacon (up 37 percent), Tractor Supply (27.3 percent) and Home Depot (up 17.9 percent) have posted the biggest increases over the past year. All of the ticker symbols on our list showed gains over the past month.
