W.R. Meadows acquires Celotex plant, brands
W. R. Meadows, a building materials supplier based in Hampshire, Il., has announced the formation of a new subsidiary, Blue Ridge Fiberboard, to resume the manufacturing of Celotex branded- fiberboard products. W.R. Meadows has successfully completed the purchase of Knight-Celotex’s assets out of Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings, according to the announcement.
W.R. Meadows is already preparing for the re-opening of the Celotex plant in Danville, Va., and operations are expected to begin in December. A second Celotex facility is planned for Lisbon Falls, Maine.
The Blue Ridge Fiberboard banner will include Celotex products such as Structodek roofing insulation board, SoundStop fiberboard panels, SturdyBrace structural wall sheathing and VersaKor all-purpose fiberboard, the company said.
