Video: Flagpole takes on mother nature

2/20/2018

EZPole Flagpoles and Mounts a U.S.-based manufacturer of flagpoles, announced that its flagpoles have been tested and approved to withstand wind speeds as high as 130 mph.

The company has this video to prove it.

EZPole telescopic series and sectional series flagpoles were tested on Sept. 11, 2015 by Intertek-ATI, under dynamic wind loading at various wind speeds. A propeller-type wind generator was utilized on top of the flagpole, with wind-loading on the top eight feet of the pole. The poles were tested at wind speeds of 30 mph, increasing in 10 mph increments until the maximum capacity of 130 mph, a speed equivalent to an F-4 hurricane, was achieved before registering any damage.

Manufactured in Eastlake, Ohio, EZPole flagpoles and mounts are made available for homeowners and businesses in five models: Classic, Defender, Liberty, Patriot and Commercial.

“We’ve always known our all-American flagpoles and mounts are extremely durable,” said EZPOLE President Todd Adkins. “And while we do not recommended that our customers subject their house and flagpole to hurricane-force winds, it’s good to know their EZPOLE flagpoles can remain intact in such severe conditions. It’s our high-quality production and parts that go into each flagpole that set us apart from other manufacturers.”
