US LBM turns up the activity

Green Bay, Wis.-based US LBM led the building material industry in headlines in April.



The collection of 10 building material dealers in nine states kicked off the month with news that its Chicagoland Hines Supply division expanded its Illinois footprint with a full-service building supply center and design showroom in Grayslake, Ill.



Then came in rapid-fire the following sequence of news releases: Hines partnered with Builder’s Roofing & Siding Supply, bringing the operation to Warrenville, Ill.; US LBM’s Wisconsin Building Supply opened two new locations in the Fond du Lac area of Wisconsin; then another Hines expansion, this time as Mike’s Deck Center in Montgomery and St. Charles, Ill., joined the Hines Decking team.



US LBM punctuated the flurry of announcements with another concerning the launch of its mobile app for contractor customers. (An Android version will be released in May.)



US LBM, recipient of the 2013 HCN Pro Dealer of the Year Award, is a collection of 10 leading building material distributors serving the Midwest, Northeast, Southeast, and Mid-Atlantic in nine states with more than 55 locations.
