Throwback Thursday: A Vote for Vitter
The April 5, 2010 issue of Home Channel News, the forerunner of HBSDealer, included a news item under the headline: "NLMBDA honors Vitter."
It also included the above photo of U.S. Sen. David Vitter (R-La), receiving a plaque made from the cross section of a tree trunk. Dan Fesler, of Minnesota's Lampert Lumber and chair of the NLBMDA at the time, presented the award.
Why Vitter? The article explained: "One of the early critics of the EPA's lead abatement rule and staunch opponent of the Employee Free Choice Ace, known informally as 'card check' legislation, Vitter is also continuing to oppose the recently passed healthcare reform of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
The presentation took place at the 2010 NLBMDA Spring Meeting and Legislative Conference. (Click here for information about the 2020 NLBMDA Spring Meeting and Legislative Conference.)
