Storehouse provides material relief

2/20/2018

Orlando — Those suffering from hurricane damage in Texas and other areas were remembered during a breakfast event here hosted by the World Vision charity. But more than just bringing attention to those in damaged homes, the Storehouse of World Vision is providing building materials to those in need.

“It’s a great charity,” said the lifetime achievement award honoree Kendrick Reaves of SharkBite Plumbing Solutions. “The Storehouse is one of the first ones in, and it’s one of the last ones out.”

The award breakfast benefiting the Storehouse of World Vision honored Owens Corning with the 18th annual Crystal Vision Award.

"Employee volunteers were the key to community efforts," said Don Rettig, president of the Owens Corning Foundation. “When a disaster strikes, our phones ring off the hook from local communities, churches; it would be impossible to provide help without the services of Storehouse.

“It’s been a great partnership and we look forward to many more years,” he said.

World Vision is dedicated to working with children families and communities to take on the causes of poverty and injustice. The organization actively solicits building product donations to support its relief efforts.

Among the sponsors for the event were CertainTeed, Kodiak Building Partners, Moen, Elkay and American Standard, among others.
