Scotts launches handy 'My Lawn' app

Scotts just launched a new mobile app to help homeowners realize their dream lawns as spring kicks into gear.

The free app helps users create a custom lawn care plan that offers step-by-step guidance for feeding, watering and seeding throughout the year.

"The connected life has extended outside the home and into your yard -- just tell the app a little bit about your lawn and receive a completely personalized plan to help get the lawn you want," said Ana Dan, director of digital marketing for Scotts. "With this app homeowners no longer have to guess if they are using the right products; My Lawn provides smart lawn care recommendations like when to feed, seed and water their lawn -- all based on their specific lawn, climate and environment."

My Lawn also includes automated recommendations for feeding or seeding based on real-time weather, as well as a recent and forecasted precipitation gauge. The app also adjusts the plan if the user misses a feeding.

Other features include live chat, a mulch calculator, weed identifier, seasonally relevant lawn tips and grass seeding how-tos.
