Parr Lumber to close three stores

The Parr Co. plans to close three retail lumberyard locations in Madras and Redmond, Ore., and Woodland, Wash. The decision stems from a company efficiency review, which measured the efficiency of each store location.

Parr Lumber in Madras and Redmond will close March 16. The company will provide products and services to customers of Central Oregon through its Bend, Prineville, Burns and Klamath Falls locations.

The Woodland location will close April 10. Parr will provide products and services throughout southwest Washington through its Vancouver and Ridgefield locations.

“Our economy has forced all businesses to look at their operating models to review efficiency,” said David Hamill, CEO of Parr Lumber. “We found that we can service our valued customers in these key markets without the costs associated with a traditional retail storefront.”
