New Ace to open in Cincinnati’s historic Gaslight District

2/20/2018

A new 9,000-sq.-ft. Ace Hardware store is set to open in June on the ground floor of the historic Ludlow Garage in Cincinnati’s Clifton Gaslight District, according to Cincinnati CityBeat.

In the late 1960s, Ludlow Garage housed Rock & Roll, a club that had headliners like B.B. King, Neil Young and the Allman Brothers Band before shutting down in 1971. The site eventually reopened as a home to small retail shops and was recently remodeled by Bryan Valerius, a former manager at a nearby grocery store who will manage the day-to-day operations at the Ace Hardware store.

The store will be open seven days a week and feature a full line of tools as well as electrical and plumbing supplies. Additional services to be offered include screen repair and glass and key cutting, and the shop will stock several environmentally friendly products, including no-VOC paint.

The store will have a soft opening in early June and a grand opening celebration later that month.
