Merillat points to paint trend in kitchen cabinets
Merillat Cabinetry is prognosticating a continued push in the use of paint in kitchen cabinets after noticing the trend in its own 2015 sales.
According to the company, paint should continue to gain in popularity throughout 2016.
"Currently, Merillat Cabinetry's Cotton White finish is one of our best-selling paints and dominates all markets in the U.S.," said Lori Salem, manager of design services at Merillat Cabinetry. "White paint is a trend that is remaining strong into 2016 so far, and we don't see it slowing down any time soon."
Merillat also noted the quickly burgeoning trend of two-toned kitchens, particularly blends of warm neutrals with clean, bright finishes. Merillat Cabinetry saw demand for this trend growing rapidly, responding with the release of Shale; a new neutral paint that complements a range of palettes.
"We released Shale in mid-2015 to meet the demand for a new, impactful neutral. Something that can really bring a kitchen together," said Salem. "We wanted to create something that met the needs of our customers and to show them we are listening."
