Masonite promotes Safe ‘N Sound

2/20/2018

For homeowners interested in sustainable building products, Masonite International Corporation is promoting several interior door options as part of the Safe ‘N Sound collection.

On display at this year’s 2014 Pacific Coast Builder Conference, Safe ‘N Sound Solid Core and Emerald Solid Core Safe ‘N Sound doors are manufactured with DorCor. DorCor is a low-density fiberboard made from renewable wheat straw that offers reduced sound transmission while retaining the heft and feel of solid wood. In addition, each Emerald Solid Core Safe ‘N Sound door is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified and contains no added urea formaldehyde.

“Because of the expanded focus on the versatility of our doors, not only from a functional aspect but from a design aspect as well, we wanted to highlight our eco-friendly options as it increasingly plays an important factor in the consumer’s buying decision,” said Shaun Alsdorf, senior director of Interior Products at Masonite. “The Safe ‘N Sound collection has been engineered to appeal to homeowners, builders and designers who want green options without sacrificing style or quality.”

According to the company, these doors meet several strict requirements for “green” certifications, such as LEED and the NAHB National Green Building Program. The Masonite Safe ‘N Sound options are available for a variety of popular Masonite interior door styles and configurations.
