Lowe’s continues relief efforts
Lowe’s recently hosted community relief events to help customers and associates impacted by Hurricane Florence.
The events took place in parking lots of Lowe’s stores located in North Carolina cities affected by the storm, including New Bern, Jacksonville, and two locations in Wilmington.
At all 4 stores, Lowe’s provided a total of 2,000 hot meals and distributed nearly 6,000 Lowe’s buckets packed with relief supplies to these local communities.
The disaster relief buckets – which were packed by Lowe’s corporate employees in preparation for hurricane season – contained sponges, household cleaner, trash bags and dust masks, among other products.
Tatyuana Williams, a Lowe’s customer, received a bucket of supplies to help her family begin to recover.
“Right now, being without power, we need food and water,” she said. “I’m very thankful Lowe’s came out together, as a community, to help those in need.”
Lowe’s said it will continue to support customers and associates in the region. The home improvement retailer has been active donating supplies and assisting residents since the storm hit the Carolinas.
The Mooresville, N.C.-based company said it plans to host several more community events in other cities and store locations across the affected area.
