Koppers makes executive moves

Koppers Performance Chemicals, a leader in wood preservation, announced several executive promotions.

Todd Greer was promoted to VP, customer sales and service, for performance chemicals.  Conrad Kempinska was promoted to the role of senior VP, North America, for performance chemicals. And JR Virnich was appointed as director, industrial and commercial markets for performance chemicals.

Greer joined KPC (formerly Osmose) in 2013 as manager, customer development and product quality, before being promoted to director, customer sales and service for the US business.

Prior to that, he spend 23 years with Timber Products Inspection Services, most recently as VP.

Kepinska joined Koppers in August 2015 as VP, commercial & business development, bringing over 30 years of experience in the wood protection, specialty chemical and materials industries, with profit and loss responsibility for several global businesses. He played a key role in developing the performance chemicals’ 5-year strategic plan and then represented KPC on the initial Corporate Strategy Team, driving several strategic new product and M&A initiatives.

In his new role as director of industrial and commercial markets, Virnich will report to Kempinska. Since joining Koppers in August 2017, after 20 years in the wood protection industry in positions of increasing responsibility, Virnich has most recently been commercial lead in launching the company’s FlamePro Fire Retardant, establishing KPC as the no. 2 global player in the pressure treatment fire retardant chemical market, the company said.
