Jenn-Air offers preview of connected wall oven

Jenn-Air is coming out with a new iOS- and Android-connected wall oven this September -- a first in wireless connectivity for the company.

The dual convection wall oven will come with an app that allows users to operate the oven remotely.

"Enabling users to keep any eye on what's happening in the kitchen while entertaining in the living room is just a tiny part of what the oven and app can do," said Brian Maynard, Jenn-Air marketing director.  "We've also incorporated diagnostics and a range of other highly intuitive functions that will encourage users to explore and control the oven's advanced features and performance right at the touch of their fingertips."

Some user interface features customers can expect include a 7-in. full-color touch-anywhere LCD display and under-glass slider technology.

Additionally, the app will allow users to interface with the Jenn-Air Culinary Center, a platform made up of algorithms and chef-tested cooking programs, as well as guidance for more than 30 food options. The system takes food category, food type, desired doneness and type of cookware or bakeware used into consideration, and provides visual guides for doneness levels and more.

Favorite recipes can be accessed via speed-dial as well -- the "My Creations" functions allows users to combine up to three cooking modes and save the settings.

Other features include the V2TM Dual-Fan Convection System, 4,000-watt reflective broil elements, six convection modes, soft-close doors and a full-extension glide rack.
