Illinois roofing contractors bake for charity

Repeating the new tradition it established last year, Naperville, Ill.-based Opal Enterprises is engaging in a bit of a holiday bake-off for local charities.

The roofing contracting company baked 140 dozen cookies on Dec. 21, which were then giftwrapped for delivery to Childserve in Naperville, Ronald McDonald Family Room at Naperville's Edward Hospital, 360 Youth Services in the Lisle/Naperville area and Family Shelter Services in Downers Grove.

"We did this last year and had such a good time and the cookies were so well-received that we decided to make this an annual event for our company," said Tara Dawn, marketing manager. "Baking cookies is a great team-building experience for us and the recipients are thrilled to have fresh-baked goodies at this time of year. This is a great way for us to give back to the Naperville-area community that is so important to us." 

All Opal Enterprises employees, including office staff, management and crew members, participated in the bake-athon.
