City Mill opens new Hawaii location

2/20/2018

City Mill Company announced the opening of another City Mill store to be located in Ewa Beach, at the Laulani Village Shopping Center at the corner of Fort Weaver Road and Keaunui Drive.

The Ewa Beach store brings the chain’s store count to nine.

“After planning this store for several years, we are excited about this new City Mill addition, especially since there is so much growth in West Oahu and in the Ewa Beach area,” said Steven Ai, City Mill president and CEO. “As a locally owned and operated kama’aina company, we hope to be a great community partner, as we are in other neighborhoods where we have locations.”

Grand Opening Day is Friday, Nov. 16, starting with a traditional Hawaiian blessing at 7:00 a.m. Grand opening events include a free City Mill Ewa Beach commemorative T-shirts with a qualifying purchase, Hawaii’s top radio personalities paying music and giving away prizes, product demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday, Grand Opening Special Buys and enter-to-win prizes. The shopping center developer is Safeway Inc. and it, along with City Mill, will be the shopping center anchor stores. Laulani Village will be the newest and largest retail development in Ewa history, with about 70 retailers, businesses and services. Groundbreaking of Laulani Village was in November 2011. As the second largest anchor store, City Mill is approximately 40,000 sq. ft., which includes a 5,000 sq.-ft. area for garden, lumber and building materials.

Other stores opening soon in the Laulani Village Shopping Center are Safeway, Petco, Walgreens and Ross.

City Mill Co. is a 113-year old Hawaii-based company that was founded in 1899 as a rice and lumber mill. It continues to be a private, family-owned and operated company whose primary business is to sell home improvement and related products for the repair and maintenance of the home and office.
