Cedar Creek unveils new plant
Oklahoma City-based Cedar Creek opened its new “Paint Technology Center” facility in Granite City, Illinois, just outside of St. Louis.
The plant recently began production and shipments to Cedar Creek’s Midwest customers.
The fully automated coating plant is dedicated to painting Cedar Creek’s new line of “Summit” prefinished siding. The operation includes two new buildings: a paint line production building and an adjacent storage building on a 35-acre site that is shared with a Cedar Creek regional lumber and building materials distribution center.
According to CEO D. Wayne Trousdale, the company has been working on this project since its entry into six new Midwest markets in June 2014 with the acquisition of Roberts & Dybdahl.
“Our new customers told us how important the prefinished siding category is in this market, and we responded by building a top-of-the-line facility that incorporates the latest in coating technology,” he said.
Cedar Creek has partnered with LP SmartSide and PPG as their two key suppliers on the new product line. They will stock 25 colors for immediate shipment and offer a broad custom color palette made possible by Cedar Creek’s investment in the Rexson computerized color mixing system. There is a 30-year limited warranty on all “Summit” prefinished siding and trim products.
Cedar Creek operates 25 locations covering 34 states across the United States.
