84 Lumber renews Operation Appreciation
For the fifth year in a row, 84 Lumber is hosting its annual Operation Appreciation campaign in honor of Military Appreciation Month in May.
This year, the company is looking for one lucky veteran or active duty military personnel to award a free 84 Lumber Countryside Tiny House to.
To enter, any U.S. military personnel, or a loved one of a veteran or service member, simply needs to upload a video telling 84 Lumber how the tiny house would impact the veteran’s life.
Videos should be under seven minutes in length and should mention which branch of the military you or your loved one served in, how you would use the tiny house and why you deserve to win. The 84 Lumber donations committee will select one winner who will receive the tiny house.
Entries for the contest are being accepted here.
“Since 84 Lumber was founded nearly 65 years ago, we have always had a strong commitment to our military members,” said Amy Smiley, vice president of marketing at 84 Lumber. “With everything going on in the world right now, we thought this would be a good year to go all out for those who serve us. We’re excited to hear everyone’s stories and to give a tiny house to someone in need!”
In addition to the tiny house giveaway, 84 Lumber is honoring veterans throughout the month in its 250 stores around the nation. Each 84 Lumber associate will be given a custom Operation Appreciation t-shirt, and a 10% discount will be applied for all military personnel and first responders. The promotional discount is actually applied year-round at 84 Lumber locations.
The company also has Combat Wounded purple parking spots at stores nationwide and puts a strong emphasis on hiring former military members.
