The latest version of the Quikrete Industry Dashboard shows a decline in residential construction, after a big gain in the previous month. The Dashboard also shows Consumer Confidence retreating from 134.1 in February to 124.1 in March.

According to Lynn Franco, senior director of economic indicators at The Conference Board, “confidence has been somewhat volatile over the past few months, as consumers have had to weather volatility in the financial markets, a partial government shutdown and a very weak February jobs report.” She added: “Confidence Despite these dynamics, consumers remain confident that the economy will continue expanding in the near term. However, the overall trend in confidence has been softening since last summer, pointing to a moderation in economic growth.”

Also on the Dashboard, gas prices are higher today than they were last month (by a lot) or last year (by a little). The average price for a gallon of regular gas is $2.69.
