MaterialsXchange (MX), the B2B e-commerce provider for commodity raw materials, is continuing to add to its leadership team.

The Chicago-based company announced that Margaret Price is joining MaterialsXchange.

Price has more than 20 years of LBM Dealer experience operating Ridgefield Supply, which she sold to US LBM this past December.

Additionally, Price spent several years working at Kleer Lumber, a PVC Trim manufacturer, and developed the industry’s first reverse distribution of recycling PVC waste which allowed them to receive an SCS Recycled Content Certification.

“Being five generations in the industry, I have sawdust in my blood,” Price said. “Seeing the team at Ridgefield Supply transition under the US LBM family is a testimony to embracing change within our industry.”

Price is joining the senior executive team to help develop the customer experience, including interfacing with the MaterialsXchange platform and cultivating markets for the platform, the company said.

“MaterialsXchange, in my opinion, is leading the way to transform the supply channel using technology,” Price noted. “I am excited to be working with the MX Team and exploring all the opportunities this platform allows.”

MaterialsXchange CEO and co-founder Mike Wisnefski notes that Price adds a new layer of supply chain knowledge to the company’s leadership team.

“Having Margaret join the leadership team at MateialsXchange is a real gamechanger,” Wisnefski said. “The best teams are full of people with complementary skills that fill in all the gaps of knowledge and experience. Margaret does just that. She knows what it takes to be successful in the building materials supply chain and has the drive and spirit to make it happen.  Margaret is an innovator and visionary with street smarts of a seasoned entrepreneur.”

Launched in 2019, MaterialsXchange is a digital marketplace for efficiently buying and selling wood products, including dimensional lumber and OSB, among other products.
