US LBM keeps growing
US LBM Holdings acquired K-I Lumber & Building Materials of Louisville, Kentucky, bringing the US LBM footprint to 90 locations across 14 states.
The move pushes the number of US LBM divisions 15, and brings into the fold a territory with which US LBM CEO L.T. Gibson is familiar – Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
“Having grown up in the Lexington community, I know K-I Lumber as having a dedicated and knowledgeable team of associates that succeed by providing a local feel and focus to their customers,” Gibson said. “We look forward to expanding upon their success.
K-I Lumber will continue to be run by President Bob DeFerraro. The dealer was founded in 1932. It operates two locations in Louisville in addition to full-service distribution centers in Lexington, Kentucky; Clarksville, Indiana; and Evansville, Indiana.
“We are excited and proud to join the US LBM team and the opportunity it brings to provide our customers with continued enhancements to our product and service offering,” said Bob DeFerraro.
US LBM purchased the company from the Walter M. Freeman Trust and Chairman Sherry Freeman. “My husband and I put our lives into this business caring deeply about the relationships with our associates, customers and supply partners,” said Sherry Freeman. “We are confident that US LBM will serve as a thoughtful steward leading K-I Lumber for many future generations in the same way our family has for the last 82 years.”
