At PDIS, analyzing the forces of change

In a presentation titled "Forces of Change," Guy Blissett will present leading strategies from across the distribution industry to attendees of the ProDealer Industry Summit.

The wholesale distribution lead for the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors will deliver the keynote address at the 2011 ProDealer Industry Summit in San Antonio, Texas, Oct. 26. In addition to a look at macroeconomic conditions and powerful trends at work in the industry, Blissett's presentation will touch on four key concepts that keep executives up at night: Services, human capital, analytics and information technology.

Blisset's keynote will be delivered on the first night of the Oct. 26-28 summit, hosted jointly by the National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association and Home Channel News in San Antonio.

One of the key trends facing the industry is the expanding role of government. "We try to put politics aside as much as possible," said Blissett. "But regulations and taxation impact this industry. One question is what is the role of government. But more importantly, how are you going to capture the opportunity it presents?"
