A lumberyard comes to Manassas

Northern Virginia has welcomed a new LBM dealer: Building Supply of Manassas, located at 9412 Stonewall Road in Manassas, Virginia.

BSM carries a complete line of lumber and building materials, sitting on a 6.5-acre facility with a 50,000-sq.-ft. showroom and warehouse space.

The store is a division of The Lester Group, a diversified lumber products and real estate development enterprise based in Martinsville.

BSM will primarily serve the pro residential builder market, with full delivery services and a variety of lumber, including engineered wood, treated lumber, composite decking, exterior and interior trim, windows, doors and siding.

“We have everything a contractor needs to build or remodel a home,” said Jim O’Brien, president of The Lester Group.

The store currently employs 15 people, with plans to add 35 more within the year. Managing the store is Billy Donnelly, a 28-year veteran of the building supply industry who was previously sales manager in Northern Virginia for Jim Carpenter Company, also of The Lester Group.

“Our company has nearly 120 years’ experience in the lumber business,” added O’Brien. “With our understanding of the needs of professional builders and strong customer service, we anticipate a significant expansion in the regional market.”
