84 Lumber makes a promotion

84 Lumber has promoted from within once more.

The company has promoted Rich Scalise to the position of director of inventory management, operating out of Team Headquarters in Eighty Four, Pennsylvania.

Going on 13 years with 84 Lumber, Scalise started his career with the company as a manager trainee in the Imperial, Pennsylvania, store before moving on to positions in store management, government sales, pricing and purchasing.

He was most recently serving as the lead hardlines buyer and pricing manager.

 

“Rich is a wonderful example of our ‘promote from within’ culture,” said 84 Lumber owner and president Maggie Hardy Magerko. “In every position he has held with 84 Lumber, he has played an important role in supporting our stores. I look forward to the fresh insights and new ideas he’ll be bringing to the director of inventory management position.”

Scalise takes over from Tom McCartney, who was recently promoted to VP human resources.
