Carter Lumber opens up shop in Knoxville
Carter Lumber has entered a brand new state market with the opening of a new location in Knoxville, Tennessee.
"We're very excited to expand into Tennessee with this new location as we continue our mission to be the number one lumber and building materials dealer in every market we service," said Jeff Donley, president and COO. "Knoxville is a great area. It has a robust economy and a strong housing market; one that we believe will continue to grow. As I've said in the past, we are going to seize every opportunity we can to grow our business by adding new locations in markets that fit our business model."
The new location, to be entirely dedicated to serving professional builder customers, will sit on a 10-acre facility six miles outside of Downtown Knoxville.
Brain Massie, VP of the Southeast, will manage the location. He also currently runs other locations in the South, like the one in Atlanta, Charlotte, Winston-Salem and Greenville.
In charge of assembling and leading the sales force will be Glenn Holston, a 20-year veteran of the lumber industry.
"While our competitors and their employees are busy being worried about buyouts, store closings and consolidations, Carter Lumber continues to be focused on steady growth throughout our, now 12-state, footprint. Builders and building materials industry professionals know that if they want to be partners with a company they can count on for the long-term, that company is Carter Lumber. We continue to show why we are the supplier of choice and employer of choice in every market we service," said Kip Gleckler, senior VP of field operations for Carter Lumber.
The Knoxville location is scheduled to start making its first deliveries during the beginning of May.
This is also the sixth new facility Carter Lumber has opened since the beginning of 2014.
