LMC, the forest products and building materials buying group, hosted 60 exhibitors with nearly 300 attendees from Aug. 9-11 at is second consecutive virtual edition of the LMC Hardware Express.
Matching the attendance of last year’s virtual event, dealers were able to maximize buying opportunities with access to exclusive show specials from exhibitors such as Simpson Strong-Tie and Delaney, the two sponsors of the event, LMC sad.
The Express also hosted sponsor presentations and gave the dealers the flexibility to meet with suppliers and the LMC team over the course of three days.
“Volatile pricing and supply issues have plagued the market for over a year so our goal was to help dealers, suppliers, and the LMC team connect to help navigate these challenges,” said Mike Connolly, hardware purchasing manager for LMC. “This week, we helped our network do that while also helping attendees secure product with one-of-a-kind specials and learn more about the latest market innovations from suppliers.”
Suppliers such as Simpson Strong-Tie, who extended their reach nationally into the Northwest United States the week before the show, found that the Hardware Express was the perfect setting to ride their momentum.
“LMC has been a great partner and we’ve been proud to support them over the years,” said Mike Bond, national account manager for Simpson Strong-Tie. “Thanks to the support of LMC, we had a record number of orders that should help ease the supply issues for dealers in the coming months.”
LMC said that it hopes the 2021 virtual edition is the last of its kind for the foreseeable future.
The organization is planning for the upcoming 2021 LMC EXPO, which will take place in November as an in-person event at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.
LMC serves over 1,400 dealer locations in the United States and the Bahamas.
