Report: From grocery to hardware
According to an article in The Business Journal of Youngstown, Ohio, an Ohio ownership group that operates seven Sparkle Market grocery stores has opened a True Value hardware store in Youngstown.
The Furrie-Vitullo ownership group held the store's grand opening Jan. 17.
Vince Furrie Jr. told The Business Journal: “We’ve been bagging groceries since 1947 and with Sparkle Markets, store ownership and management has been in the Furrie and Vitullo families since 1962. So we’re eager to apply the same level of customer service and quality offerings that you would find in our Sparkle stores, to this True Value location.”
The hardware store is located in the Cornersburg Sparkle Plaza. It’s the ownership group’s first venture into hardware retailing.
