The Dixie Wildfire in Northern California is now the largest single wildfire in the state’s history, Capital Radio reported.

Estimates place the damage at more than 1,000 buildings and structures destroyed, including more than 550 homes, according to the Los Angeles Times. The Home Depot places the damage at more than 600 homes destroyed.

With the fires still growing, over 500,000 acres of land have been burned in four counties: Plumas, Lassen, Butte and Tehama.

Team Depot, The Home Depot’s associate volunteer force, said it is monitoring and preparing to mobilize relief supplies. The Home Depot Foundation is partnering with the Red Cross, Operation Blessing, and the local Salvation Army.

The nonprofit partners are creating emergency centers while providing meals, and comfort supplies and wildfire relief kits for families displaced by the fire.

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) places the wildfire as the 15th most destructive in the state's history.

Cal Fire also reports that the blaze is just 30% contained as of Aug. 11.
