Highlights from Hartmann’s undercover performance

Chicago -- True Value President and CEO John Hartmann said the co-op has enjoyed strong positive feedback from its participation in the CBS television show “Undercover Boss,” which aired Sunday night.

In an interview with HCN, Hartmann described the response as “incredible.”

“It was great to see True Value showcased like that to a national audience,” he said.

The effort wasn’t originally thought of as an advertising opportunity, he said. “It gave me the opportunity to work elbow to elbow with a lot of great people across the country, but it doesn’t hurt that 9 or 10 million people watch those premiere episodes.”

“The incredible response that we had on our customer line, our retailer line, to me personally and a variety of communications has been remarkable,” he added.
