HDW Fall Market drums up $18,000 for veterans

2/20/2018

Hardware Distribution Warehouses pointed to "record participation" at its 2016 Fall Dealer Market in Little Rock, Arkansas.

That's also great news for local VFW posts and the VFW Foundation, which will be receiving nearly $18,000 in contributions resulting from the event.

“HDW is fortunate and grateful to all veterans who have given so much to our nation and this was a way in which we could support our dealers who in turn supported either their local VFW or the VFW Foundation”, said Kenny Beauvais, HDW president and CEO, “and the majority of the funds we raised for the VFW are going right back to our dealers local communities, right back to help the friends and neighbors of our great HDW dealers."

The weekend event was appropriately themed "Honoring America's Veterans." Dealer attendance was up 20% over the last HDW market in Little Rock.

The event featured live music by Iraq war veteran and upcoming country artist Nick Snyder, an appearance by the VFW Color Guard from Hot Springs Village, Arkansas (led by Honor Guard Captain Dallas Erdman), and roundtable discussions regarding industry-related matters.

"Another plus to this program is the fact that our dealers can leverage this donation by using it in conjunction with the HDW Veterans Day Sale that is a pre-planned retail event that can deliver a local sale event from our dealers to the market that they serve," added Beauvais. "This sale, the week of November 7th is timed perfectly to take advantage of the great buys we had at the show and to use those to promote our dealer businesses.”

“The sincere support and inspiring generosity HDW, Inc. and its dealers have shown the VFW will have a far-reaching impact on the lives of America’s service members, veterans and their families,” said VFW National Commander Brian Duffy. “On behalf of the VFW’s nearly 1.3 million members, I want to truly thank HDW for supporting our organization and recognizing how vital the VFW mission is.”
