Building products manufacturer the AZEK Company has entered into an agreement to sell its Vycom business to Ohio-based Plaskolite, LLC, a manufacturer of engineering thermoplastics.
Founded in 1983, the business is a division of AZEK’s commercial division and manufactures plastic sheet goods.
“The complementary cultural fit of Plaskolite, combined with its commitment to cultivating long-lasting customer relationships and its reputation for providing the highest quality products in the industry, will both support a smooth transition and elevate Vycom’s business to the next level,” Jesse Singh, CEO of AZEK, said a in a press release.
AZEK produces several brands of outdoor living and exterior building products including TimberTech decking and railing, AZEK trim, and StruXure pergolas.
“We thank the entire Vycom team for their hard work and celebrate their commitment to continuing to deliver sustainable innovative plastic sheet solutions to their customers,” Singh said.
According to the AZEK CEO, this move simplifies the AZEK portfolio while allowing the Chicago-based company to focus on its core portfolio of repair and remodel and outdoor living products.
“This acquisition allows us to better serve our customers by offering a broader range of thermoplastic solutions,” said John Szlag, co-president at Plaskolite. “Vycom's expertise in engineered products along with their commitments to both manufacturing safety and sustainability perfectly complements Plaskolite's core values."
The deal is expected to close on Nov. 1. Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed.
