PWT names special advisor

PWT, the creator of the first manufacturer-treated laminated veneer lumber (LVL), announced that Steve Killgore has been named special advisor to the board.

Killgore joins PWT’s Board of Directors with more than 45 years of professional expertise and success, holding senior-leadership positions across sales, marketing, and company operations at numerous leading manufacturers, including McKenzie Forest Products, Roseburg Forest Products, and Willamette Industries.

He currently serves as vice chairman for Timber Products. 

Killgore was recently presented with the John J. Mulrooney Award from the North American Wholesale Lumber Association (NAWLA). The Mulrooney Award is among the highest honors bestowed upon individuals in the lumber sector, recognizing outstanding leadership and dedication to advancing the field.

The John J. Mulrooney Award honors its namesake for his contributions to the forest products industry. Mulrooney was a career lumber wholesaler whose steadfast leadership, strategic thinking, personal integrity, and service to others set him apart from his peers. 

Individuals who receive this honor are evaluated for their embodiment of these same qualities. Winning this award is a testament to Killgore’s commitment to excellence and his significant impact on advancing the field. 

In his career, Killgore has extended his commitment to and involvement with the industry through several professional bodies. He chaired the 2017 NAWLA Trader’s Market and has served on the Board of Trustees for the American Plywood Association (APA), Western Wood Products Association (WWPA), and Pacific Lumber Inspection Bureau (PLIB).
